Patents – Argentina starts implementing new WIPO Standard ST 26

As of July 1st, 2022 Argentina has begun implementing WIPO Standard ST.26, simultaneously with all Industrial Property Offices.
The main purpose of this change is to provide a uniform format across all patent offices for better accessibility, classification and preservation of the information.
The new standard will apply to all patent applications filed on or after 1 July 2022 and it applies to applications based on the filing date, not the priority date. In the case of divisional applications, the Argentine Patent Office will not require WIPO ST.26 format if the parent application was filed before 1 July 2022.
